Roses can be easy to grow  We choose the most disease resistant roses from Jackson & Perkins Roses in patented (recent introductions) and nonpatented (varieties that are still highly rated but introduced over 17 years ago).  We think the less you have to spray for black spot and powdery mildew, the better. J & P is also growing many varieties on their "Own Root" instead of budded onto a different rootstock..  This means greater hardiness for your roses, so if the rose canes die back during a very cold winter, they will still regrow as the same type of rose you planted.  Budded or grafted roses will grow back "wild" if the top portion dies back.

We are happy to offer J & P's Ultimate Rose™ Collection - rose varieties which are exclusive to garden centers, and, as always, Plantscape offers the new AARS (All America Rose Selections) winners for 2009 and the Jackson & Perkins Rose of the Year.

Easy to Grow Shrub Roses Hardy and trouble-free, Shrub Roses   bloom heavily from spring to fall with little care, no spraying and no deadheading of spent blooms.   Plant Knock Out™ (red), Pink Knock Out™, Blushing Knock Out™, Double Knock Out™, Double Pink Knock Out®, or the new Yellow Knock Out"! for easy care. You'll be amazed at their vigor and ease of care.

Another favorite shrub rose at Plantscape is the Home Run® Rose, with true bright red flowers on a more compact plant.  This is an offspring of the Knock Out"! rose, so it also shows great disease resistance and requires low maintenance.

Sedona

 2010 J & P Rose of the Year®

The warm colors of Sedona are reminiscent of the picturesque red bluffs and magnificent sunsets of the high desert. Each pointed ovoid bud echoes the beautifully sculpted layers of red rocks as it slowly spirals open to reveal flawless high-centered flowers in shades of reds, corals, and oranges. As nights cool, blooms reveal undertones of coral pink.

   Monkey Business

2010 J & P Floribunda of the Year®

You'll go bananas for this year's Floribunda of the Year! Everything about this feisty yellow rose surprises and delights, from the unexpected licorice scent to the huge clusters of high-centered blooms and healthy, lush foliage. Ready-made bouquets with a single snip bring the sunlight and penny-candy scent indoors while capturing the summer sun and filling the whole room with fun.

Rio SambaThe sizzling hues of this 1993 AARS winner make it a standout, even in a crowd of colorful roses. Its well formed orange, coral, and yellow blossoms are a favorite, and the leathery foliage shows excellent disease resistance.

Veterans' Honor® Our Rose of the Year winner for 2000 is one of our most popular red roses in recent memory! This glorious thick-petaled rose honors patriotism and courage, with 10% of net sales donated to veterans' healthcare.
